Artist Statement
Los-Twins DeLa Parra create contemporary artwork at the intersection of culture, imagination, emotion and the streets that shaped them.
The Cosmic collection uses the astronaut as a recurring symbol of human curiosity.
But Cosmic Bloom asks a different question:
What happens when the explorer finds somewhere worth staying for a while?
Instead of placing the astronaut against machinery, cities or the darkness of deep space, she stands surrounded by something completely organic.
Flowers.
Sunlight.
Wind.
Life.
The contrast between the technical spacesuit and the imperfect beauty of nature represents the balance many of us spend our lives trying to find—the balance between ambition and peace, progress and presence, exploration and belonging.
