Influencer VS Influenced
In a recent study, researchers have found that many individuals are not achieving their desired health and fitness results by following online influencers. The reason for this is that every person's body is unique and requires a different approach to reach their fitness goals.
"Ladies and gentlemen, have you ever noticed how all these online influencers make it look so easy to get ripped and fit? It's like they're all part of some illegal secret training club where they get to eat tacos and ice cream every night and still look like Greek gods. Well, let me tell you a little story.
A long long long long time ago. Once upon a time, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth and I was just a freshman in what we call “Life” , I participated in a charity calendar photoshoot. Along with many colleagues, we followed, including but not limited to, insane group workouts, tanning sessions like the Jersey Shore TV Program, strict diets and intense workout routines for months leading up to the shoot.
However, when the day of the shoot arrived, my muscular colleague Croix (name changed for privacy and safety concerns in keeping him from ripping my face off) showed up late and admitted to having consumed two large pizzas, a liter of soda, and ice cream day of! Despite this, Croix was in better physical shape than anyone else at the shoot.
Let's take my grandparents as another example. My grandmother was born on August 18, 1920, on the day women received the right to vote. She was a 5'11" powerhouse who raised 9 kids alone and was the only female supervisor in the field workers of California. And my grandfather, a uniquely tall Latino of 5'8 considered a Mexican Giant in 1940’s in Mexico" Captain in the Mexican Army who had to hike and ride horses to patrol the El Paso/Juarez border. They both had different body types, but they both achieved their fitness goals through hard work and dedication.
Everybody is unique and requires a different approach. Keep in mind, there are three body types humans deal with which are Ectomorph, Mesomorph, Endomorph. Most people are a mix of 2 body types.
And as for me, I'm a unique blend of Ecto-Mesomorph, Native American, Italian, Mexican, and Spanish. Oh, and I also enjoy puppy dogs and long walks on the beach. But let's be real, the only reason I'm a personal trainer is because I got kicked out of the " illegal secret training club where they get to eat tacos and ice cream every night and still look like Greek gods"
In conclusion, don't be influenced by an online influencer, make educated decisions that benefit your personal galaxy. And if you're looking for a personal trainer who can relate to your unique body type, give me a call. I hope this story helps your outlook on yourself vs online influencers.
Remember, as Master J always says, 'Knowledge of Self, is the knowledge itself."
